Case 1

The case task was as follows:

In this case you need to come up with an idea for a platform-game. You also need to design and drawn the main character for this game. The character needs to be drawn in Flash, and it needs to be designed to be animated as easily as possible in Case 2.

After a lot of thinking and a lot of ideas (some less politically correct than others...) I finally came up with a rough game and main character draft.

Meet Charlie the cell, the protagonist of "Cranky Cells!" ! The point of the game is for Charlie to collect the DNA-samples from the other cells on the course, while avoiding the viruses roaming around.

Character-wise I heavily based mine on Rayman, from the classic Platformer games. I had two main reasons for this. Firstly, a character with no arms and legs will be a lot easier to animate (yay!), and secondly it's a very "retro" look which I think fits in well with the genre.

As for pickups and enemies I haven't really decided what I'm going to do yet. My current best idea for enemies is to simply finish animating the player character model, and recolour it red and give it "evil" eyes.

Updates on Case 2 will be coming soon.
